The public website is for initial contact—not sensitive client intake.
This notice describes the limited information collected through darkwaterpi.com and why executive personal identifiers, credentials, confidential evidence, and privileged material should not be submitted here.
Information you choose to provide
The contact form may collect your name, work email, phone number, organization, role, selected service, approximate scope, public company or third-party identifiers, location, timing, and a high-level description of your request. DarkWater uses this information to evaluate fit, respond to the inquiry, identify potential conflicts, and determine whether a more controlled intake process is appropriate.
Do not submit sensitive information
Do not use the website to submit participating executives’ personal email addresses, usernames, phone numbers, home addresses, travel details, credentials, MFA or recovery codes, private account information, internal vulnerabilities, confidential business records, breach data, private images, Social Security numbers, full dates of birth, medical or financial records, evidence files, or attorney-client privileged material.
Form delivery
The website contact form is configured to use FormSubmit, a third-party form delivery service, to transmit the inquiry to DarkWater by email. Information submitted through the form therefore passes through that provider’s infrastructure and normal email systems. Do not treat the form or ordinary email as a secure evidence portal.
Website logs and third parties
The website host and network providers may process ordinary technical information such as IP address, browser, device, requested pages, timestamps, and security or error logs. DarkWater does not intentionally use advertising pixels or sell website inquiry information. Third-party providers may process information under their own policies and security practices.
Use and disclosure
DarkWater uses inquiry information for business communication, conflict and fit review, service planning, security, recordkeeping, and legal compliance. Information may be shared with service providers supporting website hosting, form delivery, email, legal, accounting, insurance, or security functions, or where required by law. Inquiry information is not a client file unless and until an engagement is accepted.
Retention
Unaccepted inquiry information may be retained for a reasonable period for communication, conflict review, security, business records, and legal purposes. Engagement records are governed by the applicable agreement, handling plan, law, and professional obligations.
No automatic client relationship
Submitting a form, sending an email, or leaving a message does not create an attorney-client relationship, investigator-client relationship, consulting engagement, privilege, confidentiality agreement, or duty to act. Do not send time-sensitive or sensitive material until DarkWater confirms acceptance and the approved method of transmission.
